After three years of nagging by my Jeep bud, Robert, along with some encouragement by our own "Little Buddy" Steve G., I finally made the trip to DV. We flew from Seattle to Las Vegas where we picked up a rental Exploder. My buddy Robert was lucky enought to snag a more capable Jeep Liberty when he arrived on Xmas eve.

In Death Valley, the history is rich, the scenery is spectacular and the trails are beyond an Exploder's capability (running boards, 4-wheel ind. suspension, and open diffs!). After I had to be strapped off a little boulder that might have gotten stuck in my VX's tread, It was clear that the Ford was simply a 4WD station wagon. We ended up doing way more hiking (which was great) than 'wheeling. We had a great time, but next time I'll take a REAL rig. Are Isuzus available in any rental fleet?

Cool pics I should roll down to DV before it gets to hot. That old truck is beat to hell.
