Lancaster PA:
New Holland Toyota has this magnificent beauty sitting out back. It is a '91 FJ80 with a whole lot of rust, and a whole lot of miles.
Interesting for a wheeling truck, for sure! It is pretty crusty though. Definitely the cheapest 80 series that I have seen.
Interesting - no flares, no running boards, steel wheels, cloth interior.
Phone # on the side said call after 5:00. 717-201-5306

Body Damage is Cool

There's a white 91 FJ80 up here it's been in this guys yard for about 3 years now. The last time I asked him how much he wanted he said 6 bills. It runs it has about 146,000 miles on it. The underside has some surface rust and the body is in decent shape alot of oil leaks though.

Surpisingly, this truck has a factory roof rack which does NOT appear to have caused rust as I keep hearing! The tailgate however is beyond ugly. Here she is! More pictures CAZ

Must be some major design flaw in that rear window seal as my 1996 cruiser is doing the same thing only just in the leftmost spot, while that one is really going all out... doug

Yeah, has me up at night worrying about mine too! I actually went back last night to take pictures because I wanted a good "record" of where they rust.
Anyone ever taken the rear window out? It is hard? I am thinking about trying to do this to see if I can do some PM.
Thanks! CAZ

well i went to the local toyota dealer and was quoted 800.00+ for a blended repair.....(removal of window included,as well as new seal etc)
The black area on my pic is POR15 that we brushed on after scraping/sanding away the bubbled paint and rust.
The real ***** is that its eating away at the metal,so how is filler gonna hold up to the process of reinstalling the glass/seal?
We(friend who helped with temp repair)and myself speculate that inferior paint quality/technique,followed by xtra effort to install the seal/glass caused some paint to be removed in the area that subsequently started to rust, possibly because the seal traps water in that lower edge?we are not sure but it does suck a bunch, especially since my 8 year old cruiser has less than 60,000 miles on her........
anybody have any suggestions i am open(but the cruiser is factory locked <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )
doug
