some vehicles are just going to be like that. You could fix it and it will run like a top for 5 years or something could go wrong next week.
Fuel pump isn't hard. If you do some of this work yourself you'll save some money.
1st owner has a lot to do with it as well. You never know how neglected or abused a vehicle may have been.. But once you figure out that vehicles are not investments but rather depreciating assets you'll be good to go.
I'm sure a lot of people here feel your pain.
