Jay, your '96 does not have this arrangement? Are you sure? I went back and looked at the kia parts site. According to them the 1996 engine has the same IAC. It was in 1997 that it moved to the intake pipe.

How about anyone else with a U.S. 1996 Sportage? Do you have this IAC assembly?
