Holy shi*, Axe. You ain't going to believe it! I swear this is true. All I did was unplug the damn thing! Wow.

. . . I pulled the sportie into the garage 20 minutes ago and said, oh, what the hell. I left it idling, popped the bonnet, grabbed ahold of the connection, closed my eyes, gritted my teeth and yanked. My idle simply dropped a little bit into a low, super-smooth purr. Idle RPM was around 900-1,000 before; now it sits at 800, and man is it quiet.
But wait, that isn't the best part. That RPM hold? Gone! Good-bye, you sumbitch! And throttle response is amazing. It's instant. The engine revs freer, faster, seemingly smoother, and where before I used to get these really cool off-throttle burbles and pops, no doubt helped out by my aftermarket exaust, I REALLY have burbles now. Not loud, not annoying, just right.
As for more power, I think yes, especially right off the line, but only just a little. That may be an illusion by the new, snappy throttle response, but the real way I'll find out is when I get it on the freeway. Heck, I LIKE this.
I'm real tempted to open that part up and peek inside of it. Maybe I can do something to make it even better. If not, I'm not complaining. I'll keep it just as it is.
Oh yeah, I stopped and started the engine a dozen times or more, both totally cold and warmed up to operating temp, and it fires up just like it did before.
