Well, here in Brazil I guess they would have no idea whether I can plug it off (They'd probably say NO!). But I may try the switch thing.
Fact is that they probably build general specs to export the car wherever, and unless it is pretty justifiable for the market size (like US) they will not change a bit of the project other than to adapt to local legislation (daylight running lights in Canada, fire extinguisher in Brazil,etc.) I Wonder why Europeans get LSD and Americans don't! I've seen a sporty with electrical fan and it makes an interesting bit of difference. But the setup that I saw required some trimming to pull the radiator forward to accomodate the fan.
