Looking to see if anyone has bought one of these. Worth a shot since Toyota wants $670 for theirs don't you think? Mines still good but when I repaired a waterpump leak I could tell it's on it's last leg. Thanks for your help....

it's definitely cheaper than toyota. i don't see anything wrong but i've never dealt with that company. i know on my 3.4L, the fan bracket broke which ended up costing about $1700 worth of damage - new timing belt, water pump, water pump bracket, fan, fan clutch, belts, and radiator. but i had my extended warranty cover all damages except for the timing belt change - $70 out of my pocket.

Luckily my engines dont have that funny contraption since they are 22R-Es, but just a note about that company- They are good to do business with. I purchased a new headlight assembly from them for my folks Cadillac. Saved them about $300, the part came quick and was good enough in quality that you couldnt tell it was replacement when compared to the original on the other side. Good communicators as well.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm currently doing the same job. The toyota part comes w/ the bracket, seals, fan clutch. That explains the ridiculous cost. (I got it for 521.xx no tax) Before I found this thread. Arrgh! My fan clutch is still good, just covered in mud! I guess the e-fan will wait another yr. or so.
12 month unlimited mile warrant from toy. All I needed was the bracket. I think that theyre just getting rid of "old" stock by including all those parts. I would call them and ask if its a new or rebuilt part.
There are 6 or 7 ball bearings inside the bracket that don't roll around anymore

I also need to have my p/x box rebuilt and may just order from those folks.
Good Luck

Back in December I actually ordered the one from Toyota and then cancelled it because the more I thought about it, the more I was just going to ride on the old one until it died. I just ordered the one from A1 just now. I'll let you know how it goes. $161 with shipping..... I called them before I bought it. It's a complete aftermarket part 100% new, not rebuilt. Thanks for the help....

yeah, the fan clutch is what caused my water pump bracket broke.

mine seized up on me so i took it to the band saw and took about 3 inches of it off to clear the new belt routing and ran an electric fan setup...total cost was around 100 bucks...

Roll Me Over
I just pulled a SHO Taurus Electric fan for $29.67 out the door!!! 2 speed!!! GREAT Shape, 30 day warranty. this car had JUST got on the yard. That fan blows SOOOOO much air... I can't belive it. I'll just attatch it to my radiator the best way i think how. I'm also going to use a FlexAlite Fan controller which is awsome! it slowly turns the fan on to prevent spikes, and turns it on at 60% and if the temp rises.. 100%. it also has a A/C clutch input sensor. Adjustable temp setting to. $55. That's my set up.
