Or more like "what's the beef" may I ask between 4x4wire Toy Forums and that "Other Toy Site"?

4x4wire, I think, is known as that "rebel" break-away site started by all of the real contributors to that other, almost forgotten, site.... And it's also known as the laid-back, good-guy, average-joe, non-pissed-off, medium-core site...

Which "Other Toy Site"? I believe Darin and Greg are referring to T4x4Pickup, but I think you might be referring to another site?

The fellows who started that site don't like us or me. I am a nazi, a censor, a fascist, pick your nasty word du jour - I've heard it all. One of the founders spent a lot of time using our forum PM system, userlist, and email to bash me personally and to harvest readers. Also one of our staffers/mods quit in a huff and railed against us on their site (and has subsequently been banned there AFAIK). We don't bash other sites here, we don't bash their people, their culture - so when other sites bash us (which I understand is quite common), you gotsta wonder about them.

We also absolutely forbid board wars. Anyone who is "loyal" to or prefers either/any board is always welcome here unconditionally. Hopefully that has come across in the way we manage this place, and is obvious by our Staff's complete lack of bashing anyone/any site.

Warning: If anyone tries to stoke a board war, the post will be deleted and you will likely be banned!

Sherri, your topic is very valid and worthy of discussion, we just will not let it descend to the depths we see on other boards. I hope that I have answered your question.

I'm really quite surprised by all that. Granted I don't know the history between you (you meaning both you - Joe- and a more general you, the more senior members of this site), but I always thought things were cordial between the admins here and the admins of Yotatech.

There are so many people that are members of both Yotatech and ODW that it doesn't do any good to even keep this thread alive. I seriously don't get what the animosity is about.

What's the bit about "You gotsta wonder about THEM"? For someone to say they don't tolerate flame wars, that sure sounds provocative. I'll tell you for a fact that the mods and admins at Yotatech wouldn't tolerate a flame war either. Yotatech also welcomes members of any and all other boards too. Just seems to me like you're talking out both sides of your mouth - making ODW sound all nice and sweet but getting a subtle dig in at the same time. Doesn't seem like the best way to foster a good relationship.

Clayton's name has come up more than a few times in this thread as well. I think everyone knows that he likes to stir the pot, so to speak. He's tried stirring the pot alot lately - this thread is a direct result of it. I'd think that the mods and admins here would step up to put a stop to those actions if they truely don't tolerate flaming other boards.

I fail to see why this thread even stays open.

LOL, now Brian is bringing ORC into the fold. There are just too many different sites/forums out there... and apparently we have a "beef" with all of them.

You are basically right about how 4x4Wire came to be Brian.

Wasn't Clayton banned here at one point?

No, I wasn't. I took a leave of absence because of a unnamed mod.

As for the other forum, I won't comment of what I really think, but if you take the time to see how many replies are on the stupidest threads ever you will see what I mean. Those threads would get at tops 2 replies here. (little_joe feel free to delete if it is "bashing")

Yes it has, and their is a reason for it, which I can't discuss.
Oh, and I'd like for my rig to be taken off the YT "SliderZ" page.

Come on Eric, enough already. For someone that doesn't like Yotatech you sure do surf there alot. Believe me when I say that you're not the only one that would like the bling bling and/or newb posts to go away, but in the interest of tolerance, just like here on 4x4wire, we don't run them off.

We don't care about "fostering a relationship". Like I said earlier, we have no problems with any other site, but don't take that to mean that we are looking to walk hand in hand through a field of daisys singing kum-bah-yah. They can all do their thing and we will do our's.

We don't have time to babysit each and every user but we DO take action when it is necessary. In fact I seem to recall getting flamed on another board last month for the moderating I did here. Does that ring a bell Tom?

Don't worry it will be gone soon.

Alright I got my answer and the reason why I asked it. Now delete it or lock it or whatever. Didnt mean for everyone to get all emotional.

I thought maybe there was an inside joke or something to it, but since it seems to be bigger than that- drop it.

Tom, my comment about "them" is not directed at any particular site. Don't let your position or affiliation with other sites jaundice my words or infer an attack against any site or person. So you know, there is animosity between the people who started 4x4Wire and off-road.com (where our founders all came from), but you don't hear or see us bashing ORC. We have seen bashing from another very large 4WD non-vehicle-specific site. So while you choose to infer one thing, you don't have the full scope.

You're right - Sherri's question has been answered, so we can kill this.

Now you don't like how sliderz is spelled.

Hmm..

Guess what. Roger Brown sells his as "Rock Sliderz". I know, I have a set. Does that make them suck? Or do you think less of Roger now?
