just bought an '87 Runner, and I just found this page and am impressed so far with the forum and tech articles. I'm gunna start needing parts, body stuff like windshield trim, to who really knows what in the engine bay. Runs solid enough now... but want to start builing, and am new to wrenching. where is a good place online or elsewhere to look at parts. Or does Toyota still have/stock OEM parts for them?

thanks.

Don't sweat being new- It's still legal in most states....

Where to start? Start by asking questions like this! smile

Seriously, I would lay my hands on a 1987 FACTORY (as in Toyota Publications) Service Manual (FSM for short). You can get them on eBay for a song. If you can't find one, they are available from Toyota Pubs (for more than a song).

For info, just ask. For general knowledge, just lurk and soak it all in.

For new OEM Toyota brand parts, there are several online dealers that are very competitve. Sometimes your local dealer will price match the online ones just to keep the sale.

For used parts, start here at Shawn's page. He parts out Toyotas for a hobby. His prices are reasonable and his service is excellent.
