Ok I have read all the stories here about the sound the tensionor makes when it goes bad...but I about soiled myself yesterday when mine went bad. I was returning home from VA Beach to Lynchburg VA (about 3.5 hours). As I was pulling into the driveway, I turn down the tunes for the first time in 3.5 hours and heard the loudest knocks from under my hood. It was honestly worse than the noise when a friend and I threw three rods through the bottom end of a 3000 GT (rods stuck in asphalt). Quickly shut it down and check several things. After about 30 mins of basically staring at it I decided to start it up. Same sounds <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> then remember reading that around 2300 rpms the sound would stop if it was the tensionor, so rev it up and wow it stop. So I'll be ordering some parts.

Thanks for the heads up everyone...2 years ago I would have towed it to a shop.
