Okay - Randy Ellis and Walker Evans, not withstanding... BTW - Randy is the only one w/ IFS right now - Walker went back to Solid axle.

I should have qualified my statement as "Toyota w/ IFS better at rocks than Toyota w/ Solid axle" or something like that...

I added the TRD package to my '04 mainly to get the stickers.

but seriously, I did it for the alloy rims and 16" tires that came with it. invoice on the TRD package was $1300 and the invoice for alloy rims and new tires was around $1000. I figured for $300 I might as well get the locker and those cool stickers.

wow you are crazy the locker makes a huge difference. when you have a stock ride and your travel is only 7-9inchs that rear locker makes the whole difference. I would take your crazy bet anyday and walk away with more money then a came with. I guess when you will your tires never leave the ground. I am only 21 but i Have lived in utah my whole life and been wheeling in moab over 15 times. the locker is the difference if you don't have crazy travel. red

Okay the TRD first came out in 1998. They had them on the stand cab and ext cab until 2000 when they stoped with the standard cab and started a prerunner with TRD. The SR5 is a trim package. you get crome,cd,etc. the TRD kit will come with 16alloy's with 265/70/16 rugged BFG'S,progressive front coils, fender flares, stickers, locker, and the shocks. If you ever think you will install a locker get it. if not it is a waste of money.

The locker makes a huge difference here in the midwest when we get 8-10 inches of snow like these last 2 days. I blew by a bunch of other trucks that I know didn't have lockers, or AWD.
The locker makes a HUGE difference off-road, on-road with snow, all kinds of different places. If you don't want a locker, don't get one.
If you want to be safe and have fun and no worries, get a locker and cruise...
