I,am removing the complete top of my 89 to transform it into a convertible. I'll have a few parts that I, won't need such as rear window w/defogger, side windows and frames, rear wiper motor and a few trim pieces. PM if interested.

are you going to put some form of over head protection?

I'm installing a 4 point rollbar and a custom made soft-top.

I disagree. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />
A 4 point roll bar is not adequate. You should put in a 6 point cage if you are removing the entire top.

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.

I disagree.

I agree. If I ever get around to working on my genI the top is come off. It might be a pain in the ass to move around in it, but it is going to get allot of bracing and support.

Spreader across the dash, an x behind the seats, bar across the front doors. It is going to look like jungle gym. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

What size tubing, and what type are you going to use for your roll cage, and how do you intend on tying it into the frame. Also are you incorporating your seat mounting into the cage design?

Take a close look at these pictures, they may give you ideas. Oh, and you can get a removable hard top too. Check the price. (It is a G2 though.)

Mitch,
Thanks for the pics but I'm removing the top completely and will have a canvas top made for the front area. The rear section will have a foldable cover (two sections).
