Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 95 T with around 186000 miles. I live in the TN area and have experienced frozen door locks twice in the past week. It hasn't been raining or snowing prior to this happening. Both times it has happened in the morning. I did experience this a few years back at the mall, but it was raining and below freezing.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do I have a seal that has gone bad or is it just dumb luck. I noticed a lot of you live in much colder climates than I. Any help is appreciated.

I do carry a can of lock de-icer in my coat pocket now though. Don't want to get locked out in the cold. Hee Hee!

got a lighter? I just heat up the metal a bit, then stick the key in. Works everytime. Well, I DO NOT advise this if you just sprayed a flammable liquid into the lock.

BTW, Thanks. It reminded me that I have to order new parts for the Gas door (almost bent my key). And the hood prop plastic clip split. Cold will do that to things...

I'm up in the northeast, had they locks freeze a couple of times. The best thing I've found for the locks is from Toyota. They sell a can of Toyota silcone spray that you can use to lube the tailgate hindges, locks, engine hoses, etc. Its a red and black can if I remember correctly. You put the little tube on the can, stick the tube directly into the keyhole and spray, then spray the locking mechinism and door hindge. It repels moisture, and havent had a stuck lock since then. Theres probably others who make the silicone spray, but the Totyota one has worked well. It lasts a long time. Think the can was $4.99.
