i know some guys with 4runners (gen-2 i think 1995's) and i know how much they lack power. i've got a trooper with barely more power than you guy's 4runner. anyway i was wondering what you do to get extra power? we have a hard time finding any big gains as i expect you do. so what do you do to get extra power? thanks

There's not much you can do for a 2nd gen 4Runner. Basically, headers, exhaust, and intake are your best bets. I don't have one but that's what I remember hearing.

That's about the long and short of it. My old truck (an '89 with the 3.0 / 5spd / 32's / 4.56 / lockers) was no speed demon on the road, but did OK in the dirt.

I don't know when Isuzu tossed out the rod throwing 2.8 Chevy V6, but for those engines there is a host of performance products. Don't know if they fit the Isuzu application though. Unfortunately, there is no best answer...

Another thing we do is swap in a new engine - Chevy 4.3, Buick 3.8, Supra engines. etc. What about an Isuzu 3.5 from a VX ? I'd like to have my Troopers 3.5 in my 4Runner <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
