Can you describe the high-end choke a little more?
Mine will sit around 5 grand on the tach and whine and give no real added forward momentum when I stomp the gas.
Is this what you meant by the choke, and if so, how has your setup changed this behavior?

Are you referring to something I mentioned in an earlier post?

You mentioned that your setup eliminated your high rpm choke.
I have an issue with mine, and I'm trying to figure out if my problem is the same as what you experienced before the mod.

Well, what I meant by that was from the time I tried a Dynomax Turbo muffler (not the Super Turbo that I have now).
That was a very restrictive sucker, and the engine just felt choked throughout the entire rev range. Even the sound was snuffed out and it sounded like a little bee with a head cold. It was pretty awful.
This Super Turbo muffler is different in every way. My engine poops out at 5k too - that's from inherent cam profile, I believe - but the difference is it revs faster than it did and snarls its way clear up to that 5,000 RPM "wall" without any problem. The sound is really, really good.
Dave is probably right in that they're going to fall apart sooner or later, but so far mine's held together just fine for 30,000 miles. The good news is the muffler isn't an expensive one and can easily be replaced.

Guys, remember, 5500 RPM is peak HP. Peak torque is even lower than that. Going above 5500 RPM is a waste even though redline is 6500 RPM. It's just a lot of noise.

Yeah, you said it. Beyond 5,000 it just blows, and it's like flushing a toilet with your gas. When I'm hammering I never shift above 4,600 or so. It's useless.
