Yep. EGR stuck open. I had them fix it, even if it isn't a major concern. This way I don't have to deal with it Besides, a CEL before an almost 4000 mile road trip is kind of a concern

I also had them fix the rear pinion seal. That was an adventure. Between them telling me not to fix it because it will go out right way with my modified suspension. Then then they tried to tell me that the pinion was screwed up from installing the after market diff. I told them it was never removed from the housing during the install and if it wasn't within Isuzu specs, return it to spec. Dealer told me if "they" changed it when the aftermarket diff was installed, there had been a reason "they" did it. I informed dealer I was "they" and the pinion was never touched, nor was any other gear related tolerance. Might have been less time consuming to do it myself after all!

I have 3 days prep time and 2 days of travel before I will parking my behind in a camp chair in MOAB!!!

Nice... Well done Mike.

That figures, I had to fix my pinion seal the DAY I was to leave, in my preparations, I found dif fluid all over te underbelly. Luckily I knew of ashop that would do it quick and right under short notice. So I dropped it off in the morning, picked it up in the afternoon after work, packed up and headed out.

Dealers suck for the most part, they are too picky about mods...

Hmm... I am in Phoenix again, had to drive down yesterday (last minute notice) 12 hours...drive time (14 total) ~900 miles [drive fast, stay ahead of all the accidents... ]

So its been an adventure, arrived @ midnite, onsite @ 4A to cut off a couple strings, back to the hotel @ 6A, back onsite @ noon to change out cells, back to hotel @ 7, need to be back onsite @ 4AM to cut strings on, then hotel @ 6, then back to load scrap @ 11A. Should hit the road for home ~1Pish and we will see how the day goes and my stamina with the limited, interrupted sleep...
I should be back home by noon on Thurs to complete my preparations, packing and such.
Then we leave Friday, I will be around to help out the rest of the caravan party during the day Friday, and departing once everyone is ready.
Gonna be cool to spend the time in Moab celebrating the Bday/Mothers Day weekend.

So far as the count goes... does it really matter much anymore??? If you are attending, we will see you within the week, and if you aren't ooooohhh... too bad, your loss. Better luck next year... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Take care,
Keith

Wow...weather report looks warm and dry! Although wheeling in the rain can be kinda cool too (in Moab anyway...lotsa waterfalls down the slickrock).

Installed new shocks today...only a few things left on my list!

Man this working nights stuff is for the birds (owls I guess).

I just talked to Keith and he is on the road coming back from Phoenix. He could use some help staying awake because he will be driving all night. If you have a few minutes give him a call. His mobile number is 303-478-7568.

Just called him and chatted for a while since I am working nights here. He is doing fine so far, but still a long way to go...

Boy, time sure flies, huh? Been about 725 days or so since I was last in Moab, probably looking at about 370 more before I make my triumphant return... This sure stinks. Oh well, at least you will have some nice temperate weather to deal with, max highs in the low to mid 80's -- a far cry from the high 90's we've had other years... Anyway, take lots of pics, be safe, and have fun!

Chris - I am leading Fins and Things on Saturday. I'll try not to break you record for most wrong turns by the Trail Leader

Maybe we should start a "CP goes to Moab" countdown???

Sounds like a plan. Remember that there's the one point where you're in the cul-de-sac area that you can run up to the rim (I think that was Negro Bill Canyon, but don't remember) run along it for awhile and come back down. I don't think it's part of the official trail, but it seems to work quite nicely as a scenic turnaround. Don't forget that campsite K5 does, in fact, exist up Sand Flats Road a little ways, and there's that turn down along the wire fence that's a little tricky... Just keep your Wells book handy... smile

Good luck,
Chris
