web page

i like the custom intake assembly...it's ultra slick!!!! It's all good though; if your trucks a beater, you mod it like a beater....I used to have a rusted out 87 2wd yota pickup...damn that thing got beat on...but it never gave up.

actually thats a pic of a failed electronic S/C. You can see the electric fan at the end of the tube. Ended up not taking my time and rushing the install. Somehow dropped a bolt in the intake. First WOT run sucked it in... arg.. different engine now. lol

It will go back on someday.

Sitting still... I think that person had other pics also on their website... LOL

Okay so its off the numbers for speed...what I wanna know is why in the hell is temp gauge so frickin high on the scale?! Geezus H. Tits Josh, dont you know that COOL = POWER? Hell if you got a good efficient cooling system set up on there, you could wrap that needle around to the 40 again. Is this picture before or after your electric fan install??? Too hot for my tastes...I see a guage reading like that and I start wondering whats failed, and checking my wallet to see how much its gonna cost me.
Whats your gearing and tire size again Josh?

If I recall, he took that pic on I-17 southbound, which is a 5% downhill grade.

As for the temps, Arizona gets warm in the summer. Try 130* on for size.

My temp gauge goes higher than that when in AZ. No surprise there.

Halfway is normal. If it doesn't make it up to halfway, you got yourself a thermostat busted in the open position. Believe me I know, mine was like that for a long time ("wow this thing has a good cooling system...")

Of course then again, we are talking about the ³ber-accurate stock temp gauge.

Actually, in the 84-88 temp gauges thats below normal. I have a 3core rad and a 22rte thermostat (180deg) With a normal 190deg tstat, it shows just a tad over half. This is the way is been with all of my engine in all of my trucks. From what I've heard, running under normal temps is bad...

My fathers truck always showed 1/8th on the gauge (same style) and we couldn't figure out why.... turns out the PO used a set of tin snips to remove the tstat from the housing. all was left in there was the metal ring!!

Stock, Ive always had cool running motors. I run with 180* T-stats with about a 3/16" hole tapped in the flange (I hate burping), coolant changes yearly (because Im anal...not that it needs it), new radiators....and I suppose the fact that EB recut the water passages in the block may have something to do with it as well. Guess it would have helped to mention that in the beginning huh? Absolutely no problems getting my baby warmed up in the morning...just stays nice and cool. The highest its gotten on me is about 1/3" gauge and that was sitting on the I5-Hwy16 interchange in 95* weather idling for 2 hours.
