Hey Mendel, how'd you bend the plate? Put it on the trailing arm and whack the !@#$ out of it? They look good. I would have tacked it at the front of the flate, and right before the bend. Heat it with a torch cherry hot, and use a hammer to bend it. You would be tough pressed to bend that sucker without heating it first. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You guys crack me up. The heck with using a press. DougH's method is the way to go <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />. Weld an end down, heat the plate and start shaping it, pausing to weld as you progress. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I put my trailing arms back on a completely different way. With both of them off, one end of the lateral rod disconnected and the back of the frame on stands, I put a rolling floor jack under the diff pumpkin. Put in and bolted lightly the front of the trailing arms. Then jacked up the axle and scooted it around until I could easily push the bolts through - no tapping, hammering needed. The lateral rod was just as easy to reconnect - just jack up the axle. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
