Sent....watch out, one of them is bigger than than a womans.....nevermind. Only reason Im persistant on the wiring is I KNOW all 84-88 trucks main cab harness has the plug for the clock. Unless for some reason somebody chopped the plug to utilize the wiring for another purpose. I see alot of people power CBs etc with it because it has lighting circuit, constant and keyed 12v.
Good luck on your search...its a biatch with everything being tight back there...keep the band aids handy.

if i were you, wire straight from the batt. just dont forget to fuse it.

drill a small hole through the firewall and you're set. i got small hole by the pass feet and enter through that.

There's a black wire with yellow stripe in the harness going to the steering column.Look at the bottom of the steering column where it meets the dash. You should see where this harness plugs into another one.You can get to the wire there!Goog luck!

Body Damage is Cool
Actually, there's a couple connectors on the pass side fender that you can use. I used a couple of 'em to wire the electric choke and idle cutout solenoid for the Weber that used to be in my '86 22R. As a matter of fact, I think I used one of 'em to wire in a Sun Pro tach too. Just bust out a meter to test 'em.

Need a Spot
Sorry to step on everyones toes here, but I install remote starters and car alarms for a living.

For gods sake, do not get your 12v source anywhere other than the main ignition harness. I forget the wirecolor off the top of my head, It should be easy enough to hit. Just drop the dash pannel and its right off the switch. Probably around a 10ga or 8ga wire. Run a fuse inline and nothing larger than 10A. Anything bigger and I'd use a relay and get the source directly from the battery.

Using the clock or radio circut can overload them very quickly (most toyotas share the radio and cig lighter fuse) I can't tell you how many DIY jobs I've had to fix in my shop because someone went and wired his foglights or something up to his cig lighter and wonders why his radio doesn't work anymore.

Again, sorry if I stepped on anyones toes

Well, under the hood you can use the cruise control connector if it's not already in use. I used this one for something, can't remember what. Just need to use a volt meter to figure out positive and negative.
