I like that snorkel. If that's your rig, do you get frequently asked what "that thing" is by other drivers?

I got tired of people going "is that your exhaust?" when I had a snorkel. Yes people, it's my exhaust. Facing FORWARD. Made out of plastic. Dumping in front of my face.

The best had to be when I got asked what it was by the guy in the lane next to me. I somehow managed to reply with a straight face "It's a bird catcher"... and the light turned green before he could request clarification. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Ha! No, most people figure out what it is. I do get asked if I drive in water that deep a lot. Which, obviously, I don't. I have it mainly to keep water out in the event I nose into a puddle or water that is deeper than I expected.

I would have gone with the conventional ARB snorkel set up, but my spotlight prevented it from fitting, so I bought an ARB snorkle head and built a custom shorty version. So far it works great. I haven't really gone in any deep water yet. I figure at this point I still have to worry about sending the fan through the radiator.
