The diagram was intending to show tire/rim combinations that kept the critical inner sidewall at a consistant distance.

On the Gen 1's (pre 1992? North America), those combinations probably will not rub. I know from my truck the 31" set up works on an unlifted truck with unmodified suspension. Most with 33's have already modifed their trucks for better off-road clearance, so can't answer that one on a stock truck.

31x10.5's (any 10.5 wide tire) on an 8" rim will leave you more sensitive to tire sidewall pinching on the rim, and rim damage on rocks. You want sidewall "bulge" off-road.

Any tire greater than 29" will rub the front bumper end-caps. You will need to slice it back a bit, as it intrudes into the wheel well a bit too far.
