I have a 1997 with an auto and have noticed a very small amount of oil (may be tranny fluid) in the coolant but none in the tranny oil or engine oil. Tranny oil line pressure is probably higher than the coolant system which would explain the direction of flow. I bet mine is waiting to fail catostophically like yours. Thanks for the details on yours. It may save mine from getting that far.
