I'll have to agree with CPOM, its a relatively simple motor, much easier to work on most of the newer motors with all the complicated electronics. The one thing I've never been able to do is to get my rodeo to spin the tires from a dead stop without the use of the brake. Maybe the 2wds have smaller tires. Mine came with the 4.56s and the auto. It will however spin the tires quite nicely when I do actually do a burnout, does light them both up and if all is well it will make the shift to 2nd gear. Not powerhouses, but they get the job done.

92 Rodeo, 3.1 TB crank, custom bumpstop spacers, DOR shackles, Flipped ball joints, D44 Rear, 4.56s and new magnaflow cat and dynomax ultraflow muffler Since been replaced by a 2 door Explorer on 31's shackles, cranked torsion bars and full exhaust

I hope I didn't come off as insulting Tom, I was just conused as I've never had a problem with it in my application. It sounds like the '94 has other problems that make it a non-contender.

As for the Rodeo line in general, I think you would rapidly adjust to, and enjoy it's value and abilities. The truck that we bought for my wife is what brought me to Isuzus in the first place and I've loved it as long as we've had it. It's hauled all sorts of things, several people, and other miscellaneous tasks. My personal preference is for the 3.2, but I don't think you'd lose either way.

I'm actually hoping to land a nice 2gen Trooper sometime not too far down the road, and aren't looking at the Rodeos, but that's more because I've already got one!

I have the 92 Rodeo also. I have pulled a double snowmobile trailer, pop-up camper, boat, and utility trailer with it. No doubt it's not a race car but it does just fine. And the hidden bonus.....the alternator is mounted on TOP!!!

Oh and yes my foot hits the brake too but only when I'm wearing my heavy winter boots.
