Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello all,

I am at wits end about what is causing the stumble. The rig has 60,050 miles. I have replace the intake manifold gasket at 48,000, replaced plugs with ngk, new fuel filter, put in additives to remove water ( if any in there). I even replaced the muffler in cause it was too free flowing. The symptoms are taking off from the light it stubles, almost sounding like a vw bettle. Also at highway speeds it surges. Any other thoughts or possible causes would greatly be appreciated.

Roll Me Over
Please see 5 posts down for some other suggestions.

Let us know if those don't work. Good luck...it's my post and I know the frustration. Almost exact same symptoms.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just replaced the plugs Sunday night, and monday it ran great. today I started it up and ran good. Went to get lunch and on the way back it started acting up again. I pulled the fuse for the ecm before doing the plugs. Also I have checked for codes and there are none stored.

Wires?
Cap?
Rotor?
Fuel Filter?
PCV Valve?
Searched for any hoses that might have fallen off?
Any holes in properly-plugged-in hoses? (Spray small amounts of engine start around your engine to find--works for most vaccume leaks)

There were a lot of other good ideas to check. I recomend cap and rotor replacement along with plug wire check. That's what fixed mine.

Just like yours, it went from running fine (morning) to running horrible when I next started it.

Try the rest of the list at that link.

Did you replace the fuel filter, then do the gas additives?

Was it your first time adding gas additives? If so you could of freed up some junk in the bottom of the tank, and it is now in your filter.
