My sis. is having a problem with her 95 Rodeo. Seems that her 3.2 goes thru a quart of oil a week, but she is not burning any (No blue smoke) and she is not leaking any. (Parks in the same spot daily and no drips.)
I am baffled, but then again that doesn't take much!
What do you guys think could be the issue? What should I tell her to look for. I would look at it for her but she lives in Wa. & I in Ut.
TIA guys

Man, I hate to do this to you (I say again and again). Use the search button. This is one of the more heavily discussed topics.
If the search doesn't help you, please Back To Top your message and you'll be dog piled with help.
I see you have a 1993....mine has the same Missing Oil trick that your sister's 95 does...how did you miss out?

A quart of oil a week is really bad. how many miles does she have on it?
that is about 2 quarts of oil a tank.
have you been measuring it or has she?
she might want to switch to full synthetic if she already hasnt. if you really want to check it, get a manual, and pull the spark plugs. They have pics in the manual what a good spark plug should look like.

My bad; I just saw 500 or 1000 miles in my head. I read to many "oil missing" posts.
Try a compression check on the cylinders; a screw in gague will tell you if you're blowing past the rings (sign of burning oil).
Emissions check should also tell you.
Look at the under-body--is it wet with oil? It might have a bad seal that leaks at higher pressure (highway speed) and not at all during lower pressure (the last 1/2 mile to the house down side streets / in the driveway).
More info we get, better answer we can give. And sometimes we're accurate, too!

next time you visit her take a ride with her. the only time my rodeo uses oil is when i make a two hour freeway run down south. i tend to run a "little" fast and when i get home, i'm invariably a quart low. it's getting thrown "over the top" and burning out. sis prolly has a lead foot
