if the crank is still verry smooth and the bearings are showing that much, it looks like you used bearings that were too big. the old ones are deffinatly trashed, i bet if you look all the rest, they are like that too. what you should do is measure the crank with a good set of dial calipers or micrometers in a couple of different places( they should all be about the same measurement, the book will give you run out specs) and compair specs in your book. then order the new ones and some bearing clearnace checking stuff (forget its proper name, but it is a string of silly putty like stuff that you put in the bearing tighten it down then compair the thickness of the squished silly putty to the chart and get your bearing clearnace). then you need to re-hone that cylender(doing them all would probably be good since you have to pull the bearing caps anyways.... the honing will help the piston reatian just the right amount of oil to be proproly lubed), most cylenders i've seen have at least a little amount of honing left. then finally install your new rings and you are done.
