do any of you know a good website that gives the details on what options that a jeep might have?? I wanna know all that stuff about my jeep and I dont have the original window sticker for it..so I dont know exactly what gears I have in the diffs 3.07 or 3.73.. I know the transfer case..I know that it can be determined by the vin. I just dont know which letter identifies that..if you can help me find a web site that woud be awesome...thanks JON

Take your VIN into your friendly neighborhood dealer, and they can print you a list of all options, etc.

John...the gearing is easy to find out, and there are a couple of ways to do it.
Easiest.....Crawl under the rear of your rig, and look at the rear dif. There will be a tag on the left side of the cover with some numbers on it. The ratio will be on there...it will be something like 3.07, 3.55 or 3.73.
Or.....jack a tire up, and rotate the tire once while counting the number of times your driveshaft turns. That will be your ratio.

I never have seen a tag on ANY axle Ive looked at. Just a Code stamped into the differential cover.

if you can't find a tag on the front or back, do the spin test. if it's hard to tell from one spin, spin it ten times and divide...that worked better for me. Brian <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
