sorry thats just not true, bigger tires = more weight more weight = more hp to turn, more hp to turn means push harder on gas pedal, push harder on gas pedal means worse MPG. At freeway speeds the MPG may SLIGHTLY improve with bigger tires but very minimally at best. Lower gearing helps put you back into your powerband to be able to use less pedal to get where you need to go.
