Getting the Wheeling Fever

Hi guys ! I am getting tired of the stock wheels on my 92 Rodeo XS. I was wondering where is the best place to buy a 33x12.5x15 wheel/tire package (probably chrome)? I will also be buying a 3" lift kit, but I probably will have to get that from a seperate place correct ? I will be doing the trimming myself. Also, how much should I pay to have the lift kit installed ? Also, were some of the 92 Rodeo engines different, because mine is carb'd and a pretty weak engine ? Also, where is a good place online to order a right front wheel bearing and should I get manual hubs ? Thanks Guys ! EDIT: I would like it to look like this: ![[Linked Image]](http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/8/web/512000-512999/512251_1_full.jpg) Or like mattgolds: ![[Linked Image]](http://images.cardomain.com/installs/308000-308999/308120_1_full.jpg)

I like discount tire (also known as American tire I think), they've always taken care of me with tires and rims. I'd also consider alloy rims as they don't bend... For a lift check out www.darlington-offroad.com or http://www.independent4x.com/ or Old man emu, Calmini, and some others for lift kits. Also, how much should I pay to have the lift kit installed ? Donno, I did majority of the work myself, but I'm guessing maybe a few hundred, kinda depends on where you go I guess. Also, where is a good place online to order a right front wheel bearing? Call St. Charles Isuzu they give us good deals on parts usually. Yes... not required, but a good idea. see above links. Peter

also, your 3.1v6 isnt carbed, even though by a quick look at the air cleaner it would look like so. Go ahead, pull it apart, there's FI's in there

Whew ! Ok I thought I had the wrong engine or something just by looking at it Sometimes it's hard to believe there is actually a V6 in there . Engine mods are definately next as soon as I get the new tires and stuff on.
There is a discount tire right by my house so that sounds good ! What type of shop would u trust to install a lift kit ? <--- I don't have any of the tools and my garage isn't heated. Would you trust a discount tire to install a lift kit at the same time as the wheels/tires and wheel bearing / manual hubs ?
You guys rock ! I appreciate the info. I am doing searches on what engine mods to do right now !

I don't know what suspension you have on that Rodeo, but on my trooper, all we needed was a floor jack, 2 jack stands and some wrenches to do the work. I don't know if it is worth it to you or not, but a couple other wire guys came over and we lifted 2 trucks in one afternoon with the 3 of us. Just my 2 cents though. I am a prety cheap (er uh Frugal) guy

Well right now, it is the stock suspension, and within the last few days am experiencing some wavering / friction /pulling to the right at freeway speeds. I am hoping it's just a wheel bearing
So I would like to fix that at the same time that I upgrade the suspension and wheels. I don't know anyone that I would trust to do it (the lift kit) correctly.
Here is another question: When I bought the Rodeo, they said one of the leaf springs was broken in the rear so will the upgraded suspension take care of that or will I need to buy a whole new OTHER set of rear leaf springs ? I see that the kits say "HELPER SPRINGS" ?
EDIT: Another stupid question but would you recommend a 2.5" exhaust cutout to free up the exhaust (I'm about to do a search on this anyways) ?
Any info appreciated ! !

I found that a high-lift jack and a 2x4 as a pad works wonders when doing a lift

If you feel your wheel bearing doing that, I would not wait long to get that fixed. I had mine blow and going down the interstate one day at around 75 my truck pulled way to the right almost pulling me off the road. After that I did not take it on the highway again until I fixed it. The last thing you want to do is to actually weld the bearing on that spindle. Which I have heard of. For the bearings, theres no real need to go to a dealer, all auto parts stores will/should have the bearings. And they are not hard to install. As for the rear springs, you can get DORs leaf spring kit to replace the old ones. Or you can find a spring shop around that can fix or build a set for you. I have the same motor and am looking for more power. I am going to go for a comp cams 252 grind and a set of roller rockers. I was thinking 1.6's but I may go with the 1.5's. But you can fit a 14" round open element filter on there. All you have to do is remove one vacuum line and plug it up, get the spacer from a parts store and the filter and housing kit. Edelbrock makes them as well as Mr. Gasket. Advance auto has both these, the spacer and filter. This helped with my throttle response, but i did not see a gain over my K&N at the top end. Currently my exhaust consists of a catalytic converter with the rest of my exhaust just there for looks. Sure its loud, but it doesnt bother me. Its either the exhaust or the tires, which I can still here. I was wheeling with Mike the other day at Paragon (Rodeo_Guy) and he can vouch for the sound. But the only way to get any kind of power from these motors is by going internally and changing cams and rockers. If you decide to go with manual hubs, I have to insist you go with the warns. I hear lots of complaints about the superwinch hubs. Plus you can always rebuild the warns for $25 if you have to. But I myself and getting the urge for bigger tires, after seeing Mikes rodeo up close, this was the first one with tires bigger than mine that i have seen.

Also, before you do your lift, go to walmart and get some PB Blaster penetrating oil. It is like $4 and trust me, it is worth every cent. Spray it on the torsion bar bolts, and on the leaf spring bolts a day or two before you start and you will not have trouble breaking them free. I cranked the torsion bars on mine with it sitting on the ground using a 1/2 inch wrench and a rigged up cheater bar of like 12-18 inches. It wasn't bad at all.
