Need a Spot
I currently have an 89 4runner with a rotten body and a newly rebuilt motor, i also have a 85 with a shot motor and a nice clean body...i wanna do a swap (and a 3" body lift) and just curious how difficult this project will be. Has anyone done this before? Will it bolt right up to the frame?

If anyone has any info or experience with this it would greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-kevin

Kevin, buddy...need to ask. Why not just transfer the running gear from the 89' to the 85'?? Alot easier than a full body swap in my opionion. You could strip the 85' of its heart, prep it for the fresh motor etc, install the lift and drivetrain and be done. Alot less hassle in my opinion. But then again....sometimes my thought process has been accused of being assbackwards too...

I agree with Darin, It would make more sense to me to swap the engines instead, unless there is something drastically wrong with the 85. And on top of all that you'll also have the solid axle up front...

You can also do a complete suspension swap on the '85 for a little more than twice the body lift.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

Engine swap much easier than body swap. And you get the SAS for free!
