Hey Chris did you polish the aluminum part or is that paint?

I didn't polish it, but I did use aircraft paint stripper for aluminum.

I've got some areas where the paint is gone down to the metal and want to repaint to help prevent future rust.
They are made from aluminum, I do no think they are going to rust, oxidize yes, rust no!!!!!

used a blue paint that is supposed to give an anodized look.

Stupid question, but can you take off your front hubs and still drive with them off? I think I know the answer but I have never taken them off! Those hubs look excellent. I might paint mine yeller! Thanks,

Buddy

I have had that many wheel weights since the day I got the tires.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Nice looking hubs man

with that many wheel weights on that small of a tire it seems to me to be out of round I bet if you jack your tire until it is just off the ground and roll it you will see that it is. My 33 bfg mud terrains were like 3/8 to a 1/2 inch out of round one was a whopping 1 and 1/16 out of round.

I made em keep swapping them out until they got me four that were at least close to round. I finally got four that were like 1/4 inch to 3/8 out of round. they were much easier to balance than the other ones. the one tire had 10 ounces of weight inside and 8 outside. I looked at it and said man that tire is not round and they laughed at me. but when I jacked it up and showed them they quit laughing and offered to put it in the lathe and turn it down. I said if you turn off that much tire it will be bald on one side and have full tread on the other side.

Mind you I'm 6'2" 250 lbs so when I got mad they began to co-operate a little more. it ended up taking three weeks and a whole lot of I'm going to kick somebody's to get it done. I had paid 1200 for tires and rims and wasn't about to go around wobbling because of bad design and tire mfg and a piss poor attitude towards a paying customer.

they tried to tell me that most people just accept that it's going to shake and deal with. I told them I'm not most people and they fixed the problem.

Gee, my MT/Rs hardly need any weights...
Well, OK, but not that many.

Try rotating them on the wheel, you can get a little out of round from tires or wheels and together they really screw up the balancing machine.

Nice bling. Should last part way through the first couple months... ask me how I know, mine were purty red once.
