After checking Sea Foam's page for the Motor Treatment product, I see there's a few different areas to which you can apply the product.
What Sea Foam steps has everyone been taking to address the notorious ticking on the 3.2 engines? My intuition, though not always correct, says I'd only need to put it in the oil. Is that correct?
I've also read that you can leave it in the oil. Is that was everyone's been doing? I'm a little leery to do so, though that's only because I'm leery of other additives such as Slick 50 .. which really doesn't fall into the same category as Sea Foam. I was thinking about just runnnig it for about 500 miles, which is what some owners of Z28's do.
I was also planning on running the engine with 0w-30 Mobil 1 per the TSB, and also adding SeaFoam. The TSB indicates that you should run the engine for 30 minutes, which sounds like it's written for the shop so that they can get the vehicle back to the customer. I'll probably leave the 0w-30 in there until the ticking (hopefully) stops and then replace with a slightly higher viscosity oil (the 0 weight likes to leak) and also use a Mobil filter (I heard that helped as well, though assume would just increase the pressure to help the oil circulate through the problem areas - but damn, those filters are expensive).
Apologies in advance for asking what may have already been addressed -- I couldn't find the info using the search toosl. Any comments would be welcome - Thanks.
