More air DOESN'T mean more dirt. That's just not true. Some aftermarket air filters will let more air through AND filter dirt better. Why don't manufacturers put them in straight of the assembly line? Costs. An aftermarket air filter can easily be 10 times more expensive than stock.

The only thing that was proven there is that you bough a cheap aftermarket air filter.

More air = more dirt was proved when I had my oil tested on a Ford Expedition I owned.
I was running with a K&N and the dirt level in the oil was at 16.It should have been around 6.It was 8 with a paper element.
I stick with OEM from now on.

I had the K&N filter in my KK taco, but was very disapointed after a few cleanings I found that the filter oil was being sucked into my throtle body .

Yes that will in my mind lead to the MAF sensor fouling and many other problems.

I went back to the paper filter and have had no problems.....YET.

I just recently put the deckplate mod on the old taco and was very inpressed with the amount of foot response that came from the mod, and I thought it sounded cool to. On that note can you guys with the cat back systems tell me what type of sound the system makes?

Hope this helps all you and hope it helps me. Thanks again.

Hey guys thanks a lot for all your input. I think I will probably stick with the OEM filter as after looking at mine the back end still looks very very white after 20 some odd thousand miles. I f you guys still have any other suggestions please let me know I am still open to anything. thanks again guys.
