I have a 96 LS with the 5spd MUA so no auto tranny experience, but I love my truck. Yep, it's hydraulic lifters will tap after about 3,000 miles since the last oil change - 5w30 Mobil1 and a new filter clears it right up for me. Other problems I've had are the driver's side rear door lock - prone to beaking and then you can't open the door; and auto windows - I've had to replace two of these motors.

That's it - not bad for an 8 year old vehicle!

The rest is SOLID!! Good power, great looking (IMO) very capable wheeler stock - and even better when lifted 6-7" with 33s and lockers!

Another benefit (to you) - Isuzu has pretty low resale values. IMO you get one hell of truck for very little money - compared to say a similar year 4Runner.
