if you're off by 8 mph at 55 mph, you are off by about 14.5% (8 divided by 55).
so, if you are getting 15 mpg according to your odometer, you are really getting 17.2 mpg (15 times 1.145).
if you are getting 16 mpg according to your odometer, you are really getting 18.3 (16 times 1.145).
not quite as bad as you thought <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

i thought it was pretty funny that i got better mileage with my 32" tires on my truck than i do with my lt235s. even with the uncorrected gearing, i got more miles between fillup on my odometer

Same thing happened to me when I put 30s on my silly little Sportage. Reason being, you're effectively giving your truck higher gearing (numerically low), resulting in beter gas mileage. Bigger tires just kick butt all around <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
