Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've noticed noise coming form the transfer case this winter. It's getting warm enough to pull it and see what happening in there. I've had the jeep for quite a while but never pulled the TC. Any cautions, suggestion, before I go tearing into it? I've been told to make sure to have support for the trans. before dropping the skid plate. Oh, yeah, I'll be doing this solo.

I had it listed on the signature and didn't check to add it to the post. Sorry! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's a stock 99 TJ with 2.5L and Auto tranny. It has a 2 inch lift and that about it. I've changed rims and tires but everthing else pretty much stock.

its pretty straight forward just pull the driveshaft pull all the connectors and stuff going to it drain it remove the bolts holding to the tranny then pull it backa and off. just be carful it is fairly havey a good floor jack will be very useful.
