I suppose if you get your vehicle and it already has white lettering on it, then your only option is to turn them in to the frame or buy new tires if you donÆt like it.

But once you get new tires, then just choose tires without the white lettering! Take carsdirect.com for example, SUVÆs on there typically have the standard black walled tires, but you can always check the optional box for different tires that have white lettering, designated by the OWL (Outlined White Letters) you can also see this designation on tirerack.com.

I believe you can get the same tire either with or without the lettering in most cases.

As far as my feelings go, I specifically went out and bought Pirelli Scorpions with the White lettering, they look great and give my Trooper a more æready for off highwayÆ appearance, and even after 70,000 miles the lettering still looks great when washed and the tires dressed, in fact I am going to get the same again when I replace them.

I have never seen whitewall tires on an SUV, that would be a trip! I guess it may work on a tricked out Escalade but I think an Isuzu would look pretty goofy!
