Quick question on the starter, I was able to get the starter out after removing a brace, Y-pipe and O2 sensor.

After I got it out and compared it to the replacement one (from Advanced Auto) I realized there's a flexibile tube in the original that points toward to the ground (when its in the truck). The new starter has a similar tube, but would point *upward* when installed.

Since they're such a pain to remove, I want to make sure that I won't have any problems with this discrepancy.

Is the tube for some sort of ventilation, or it is some for drainage? I'm really hesitant to put the new starter in considering what needs to be done to re-replace it if I have to.

Sorry for the nub question, I just don't know anything 'bout starters! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

Thanks,
Gary
