I was looking at the stickers on the lot a few days ago; the Rodeo 3.5 DI has a transmision from USA, IIRC (and it's late for that kind of recalling). I do remember the Axiom has the same engine, but the transmission is listed as being from France.

Not sure. The Axiom tranny from France sounds like the 4L30-E. That's where those are built. The US tranny in the Rodeo? Don't know if thats the AW 30-80LE tranny or not, but it doesn't really sound like it. AW is Aisin-Warner, which is Japanese right?

I'd have to defer to Jerry for which models exactly are using the AW again. I know it's not all of them. I've gotta stop at the Volvo dealer in the morning to get our car. There's an Isuzu dealer right next to it. Maybe I'll go crawl under some of them to see what they've got.

Dan, Isuzu info sucks on their web page. I googled and didn't find anything on the two transmissions. Where do you find all this stuff? It's not like we can stick a plug in your head and use your brain whenever we need it.

Google is your friend The new model info comes from Jerry. The AW tranny info in general is just from finding tidbits here and there over the last few years. There are a couple articles floating around the net on the AW tranny. I think someone posted a link here to one of them within the last year IIRC. ATSG manuals have a lot of info in them. I also tend to buy a lot of JY parts once I get a feel for what I want. Unfortunately, most of them I don't end up using. I've got a pile of stuff I've been meaning to put on Ebay to get rid of...
