It sounds like the module inside the distributor. This is what everybody goes thru when it goes,, they buy the ECU, ouch.
Some of these modules are available with research , without buying the whole 500$$$ from the dealer.
I'm research all these modules to try to get part # so no one has to buy the whole dist . from salvage or dealer. The plastic of the mod cranks from age degedation, so junk yard one won't last long.
