at 1250, it sounds like the front pump. The tq/con will not put any noticable load on the motor if the pump is bad. NOW, if the pump was going, it would've taken out a few things with it. The pump is what builds the pressure in the tranny, to "make things happen". If it was going bad, then the increase in engine speed would cause a rapid increase in pressure, the it would slam in to gear. Anyway, hope this shed a little light on the subject, of course, I could be totally of on this as well....
