20K range will measure from 1-19,999 ohms, probably displayed as 0.001 up to 1.999 assuming a 3-1/2 digit meter.

I would guess the last setting is for checking diodes. With a diode, you need a relatively high voltage (1.5-2.0 volts or so) to trigger the diode into conducting mode. My meter shows you the forward voltage drop of the diode in this mode. If it reads infinity, then the diode may be in backwards, if its infinite both ways, its bad (or like some LEDs, needs more than 2.0 volts to conduct). [/quote]

Ok Bare with me, I could really use the teaching here!

On your website TPS Adjustment for 85-88 year 4cyl.
Test 1 VTA-E2 says 200-800 Ohms My Meter setting should be set to 20K (1*.*** Reading)
When I measure Test 1 My reading (if good) should be 00.500?

Test 2 IDL-E2 says <2.3K My reading (if on 20K) should be Less than 02.300?

Test 3 IDL-E2 says Open My reading will be (1*.***).

Test 4 VTA - E2 says 3.3K-10K My reading should be in the middle.

I think the last time I did this I tried to get TEST 1 to 500 ohms like you recommended.

I will have to go back out there tommorrow and attack it.

Thanks 4Crawler for your patience! If my reply is wrong in any of the readins please correct me!
