I finally started rebuilding my front-end yesterday, and everything was going fine. Its alot easier than I thought. After all the horrer storys I have read about the cone washers I was not looking forward to this. But all was good everything came apart fine untill........

I cant get my damn hy-steer tie-rod and drag-link off. They wont budge. And yes I took the nuts off Im afraid to just pound the hell out of them....So any tricks or ideas???

Im actully getting kinda excited about doing this, Its going better than I expected

Body Damage is Cool
so all your cone washers came off ok but the arms won't come off?
BFH should do it. Use a brass hammer. If you can get the bottom cover off then use a metal rod and hammer from the bottom.

If you dont't like religeous holidays, go to work.Otherwise, let's call them what they are.

Heat sometimes helps, a propane torch under the stud. Or just leave the rods attached, no real requirement to remove them to re-do the knuckle.

Yep, I knew it wouldnt go 100% as planned, I'll see if I can find a brass hammer some where after school. Sears didnt have one.

Do you have a pickle fork? That is what I always use.

The problem with the pickle forks, I've never used one and had a TRE worth a hoot afterwards. The shrimp fork (a reference to Darin's diminuitive size, perhaps?) won't damage the TRE at least.

AutoBlown will rent you a tie rod end puller for free, you just leave a deposit.

Is that big word you used in the dictionary?? I might need to get a new one, first time Ive ever been referred to as diminuitive. Heck Im still trying to figure out why step-sons girlfriend calls me a cracker! My pants fit.
