Thanks to all who replied.

The Polk db 525's I chose for the rear did not fit in the stock location. The hole would need to be enlarged. I do not have the correct tools to make this happen, so I went with 4" Infinity's instead.

I think the confusion about the 5.25" fitting in the rear stems from the fact that not all 5.25" speakers have the same cut out diameter. The Polks I attempted to install has a cut out diameter of 4.75" while the Kenwood Excelon's Denis installed has a cut out of 4.5". I guess any 5.25" would fit without modification to the hole diameter as long as the cut out diameter is smaller 4.5".
