Body Damage is Cool

April is here and it seems that I'm not the only one thinking (again) about A/C for my '84 SR5 extra cab. The biggest worry for me is that my copy of the factory manual doesn't show any wiring for A/C and since I have California emisions and have since installed a later model 49 state carbed motor (22R) I have a few extra wires in that area of the engine compartment.
I've had the dash completely out before to replace the heater core so I have no fears there. I just hope these 1984 trucks came with A/C wiring and that it doesn't have anything to do with that #@%$ California emissions engine computer.
I'm also wondering if I can use the A/C gear from an '85 - 88 fuel injected (22RE).
Any idea how the carbed motors idle up for A/C? Is it with a solenoid or vacuum switching valve (VSV) and dashpot that pushes the throttle up onto the fast idle step or is it some kind of air jet lets more air into the carb?
Matt
