I saw a trooper recently with a brush guard on some show on National Geographic. Something about bird memory, and how crows know how to get out of the way of cars. They basically just showed the trooper flying at the birds, but not hitting them....over...and over....and over again, all with the same trooper. It was a british right hand drive style, too.
