In one of the opening scenes of Hotel Rwanda in which the Hutu are having a protest march, there is a beat up first gen trooper trying to drive through the crowd.

BTW, this is a really great movie....

In a re-run this week of æLaw & Order Criminal IntentÆ on USA, where a philandering lawyer was the prime suspect in a multiple murder case, Goren and Eames are interviewing the suspectÆs bookie in a dinerà

[cut to the bookie]
He takes a seat in a booth as he is being questioned û and behind him there is a dark charcoal 1st Gen Trooper visible through the window.

[cut to Goren and Eames]
(More questions)

[cut to the bookie]
(He replies) û The Trooper is no longer in the shot; replaced by a white Chevy Astro panel van.

[cut to Goren and Eames]
(More questions)

[cut to the bookie]
(He replies) û Still the Astro van.

[cut to Goren and Eames]
(More questions)

[cut to the bookie]
(He replies) û Still the Astro van.

[cut to Goren and Eames]
(One last question)

[cut to the bookie]
(Silent) û But in the window behind him, the Trooper is back!

I guess I was supposed to be too wrapped-up in the dialogue to notice, huh?

in the 2004 version of 'Salems Lot I saw a white late model rodeo, maybe driven by one of the main dudes. Just flipped it on and there she was. I like this spotting a lot, being a Steven King fiend and an Isuzu freak

Somehow, I guess I missed ^ that postà

Anyway - HereÆs the Scene:

At 8:30am on Saturday morning, a very tired and sleepy Mr. Smiley had just mixed himself a rather strong Irish Coffee, in the hope of catching a little nap after a long and restless night. --- It was well known to him, whenever he was this weary, that caffeine actually has a reverse-effect - and the carefully measured quantity of Irish Cream Whiskey would surely serve to hasten it along quite nicelyà

So, he once more took his seat in front of the TV, with the opening credits of yet another movie commencing to roll upon one of Ted TurnerÆs innumerable networksà

There was a certain eerie, dark quality to this one that held with it the promise of a very slow plot development û a welcome prospect, considering his dire need for even the briefest of slumberà

And then he saw ità the one thing that stood even the slightest chance in the world of pacifying his vehicular brand-specific internet deprivation û the ill-fated circumstance that had brought him to this unfortunate state of restlessness in the first placeà Something perhaps capable of keeping him awake just a few minutes moreà Because upon the screen, rolling across a snow-covered scene - much to his surprise - was a white and silver-clad late-Second Generation Isuzu Rodeo! --- And it was exactly like the one he had once designed using the æBuild Your OwnÆ applet on the Isuzu website û right down to the style of wheelsà

And wouldnÆt you know it; that darned thing kept showing-up, interspersed throughout the entire movie, just frequently enough that he never did fall asleepà not even once. --- And did you know that æSalemÆs LotÆ is a FOUR-HOUR-LONG movie?!?

Wellà I sure didnÆt!

Ah yes, one of my favorite shows on television. And Alton lives right here in GA so all of the cool stores and stuff that he visits are only an hour-or-so drive from me.

Smiley, I hope that you get your internet back soon. I know how bad it is to have internet withdrawls.

Top Gear is the same show that tried to destroy the Toyota 4x4 diesel.

I just caught what must have been a repeat of the first "Shooting Cars" and they had a preview of the white Trooper having Mayhem committed upon it, for the next episode. Guess I'll have to look for that one!

Also, Friday night's "Ghost Whisperer" on CBS had a Gen I Troop in it. Melinda was driving to Maine in her red Jeep, when all of a sudden they cut to a red Trooper LS driving in the same direction past a body of water, then back to the Jeep. Guess they figured nobody would notice!

She shoulda kept driving in the Trooper!!!!
