This past weekend I had the dynomax super turbo muffler installed on my 95.5 rodeo. No performance gains (as expected), but the sound is great. I then put in the calmini intake I bought from ebay for 60 bucks, and immediately felt the extra pep. To me, the performance gains from the intake are pretty significant and very noticeable. The combination of the intake and muffler creates such a beautiful, throaty sound. I've been driving around all day with the radio off just taking it all in <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />.

Questions:

1. On the freeway, it seems like my rodeo is staying in 3rd gear longer with the intake. Is this just my imagination? Can the intake affect the shift points.

2. My truck is an automatic. I notice with these mods, My truck is reaching 4000rpm or more when accelerating to 70mph whereas in the past I don't remember going much above 3000rpm. Again, seems like it is staying in a lower gear longer.

3. Strange thing is I'm noticing a tinkling bell sound when accelerating after these mods. Can't imagine anything in the engine that would make this sound. Remember the movie "Its a wonderful life" towards the end when the bell tinkles and the little girl says "When a bell rings an angel gets his wings", well its that tinkling sound that I hear...(and no I have not sprouted any wings!)

In any case, these mods have been a great bang for the buck. $127 bucks for the muffler installed and 60 bucks for the intake. Its drives and sounds like a whole new truck.
