Getting the Wheeling Fever
Jerry

I tried the "quick" load adjusting instructions you mentioned. My revs just keep on climbing, no dying down as you mentioned. So I just turned the screw back to where I started. Should one start with the load screw all the way out before setting the idle to 1500rpm?

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hi Adrian
I see, this one is in Brisbane, about 2000km from where i live, there are quite a few imported engines there. By the way I got my car engine from brisbane as well as I couldn't find one in Melbourne.

WHAT I WOULD TRY ON YOUR PUMP , IS LIKE ZACHERY MACK DID ON HIS ,START WITH IT AT THE FACTORY ADJUSTMENT AND THEN MAYBE 1/8 OF A TURN AT A TIME AND THEN DO A FULL THROTTLE IN MAYBE 3RD GEAR TO LOAD THE ENG , AND ADJUST FOR MINIMUM SMOKE , YOUR PUMP MAY BE MUCH MORE SENSITIVE THAN THE ONES WE GOT , AS THE ONES WE HAD, THERE WAS NO ELECTRONIC CONTROLS AT ALL , EXCEPT FOR THE FUEL CUTOFF. , AND YOURS MAY HAVE A TIMING CONTROL CONTROLLED BY THE COMP ALONG WITH THE EGR CONTROL , AND WE NEVER HAD ANY INFO ON THE LATER ENGS AS FAR AS THE FUEL AND TIMING CONTROL GOES , ... I've got the basic Bosch VE pump, fuel cut-off solenoid, cold start solenoid, rpm pick-up, boost compensator. No fancy EGR etc ... Now that I think of it. Maybe I should have disconnected the pipe between the inlet manifold and the pump. I have noticed that the turbo does boost, even when no load is applied. Therefore the boost compensator would hike up the rpm as the boost comes in.

I'll check it out this evening ...

I'm taking the vehicle in on the 6th so that possible burnt valves can be investigated. I'll ask the company to set the pump correctly.
