I did the re-arched and add-a-leaf thing too. It lasted for a few years. Then I went with the new $500 custom Alcan springs and they were too stiff and too high. I removed 2 leaves from each of the Alcan leaf packs and added the air shocks and I'm perfect. If I load up the back with stuff I'm good at about 80-90 psi in the shocks. If I'm empty in the bed 30 to 40 psi is great. It gives you great flexability for load leveling. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'm very happy with them.

I stand corrected. I did not think about that.

You are using them to complement your newer springs. I would not be very comfortable using them to effectively replace worn-out springs.

When I had my springs re-arched the only reason the truck did not sit even lower is because they stopped on the over-load leaf. If I would have used air-shocks it would have been the only thing supporting my truck.

You have a good point there. With my air shocks at zero pressure I sit about one inch low, with an empty bed. It just depends I guess how much you are sagging. With my old stock springs and the add-a-leaf, I was sitting about 2 inches low, with an empty bed.
